  • VoucherPress – a WordPress plugin for creating downloadable, printable vouchers – stillbreathing.co.uk – website design and development – VoucherPress is a WordPress plugin that allows you to give downloadable, printable vouchers in PDF format away on your site. Download the VoucherPress plugin here.<br />
    <br />
    Have you ever wanted to give away vouchers or tokens on your website? If so this plugin is for you. You can create a voucher with whatever text you want, choosing the layout and font from a range of templates (you can also add your own templates). Vouchers can then be viewed, downloaded and printed from a specified URL.<br />
    <br />
    There are shortcodes to add a link to a particular voucher, or to show an unordered list of all your vouchers.<br />
    <br />
    You can require visitors to provide their name and email address to get a voucher. If an email address is required an email is sent to the address with a link to the voucher URL. Each voucher has a unique code, and vouchers that have an email address associated with them can only be used once, so once a registration-required voucher is downloaded it can’t be downloaded again.
  • Incorporating a back channel in a presentation or lecture – In Using the Twitter backchannel at an event, we looked at how to make use of the Twitter backchannel both as a participant and as a presenter. <br />
    <br />
    On this page we want to look at how to actively incorporate the backchannel (and hence the audience) in the presentation. This moves the presentation from one-way delivery to a two-way dialogue with the audience
  • Khan Academy – The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere.<br />

  • 12 Tools To Check Your Site’s Accessibility – When you design any web site, one of your first goals is to make sure you get as many visitors as you can, but have you checked the true accessibility of your site? Can a color blind person read it? Are all of your scripts cooperating? Your colors may look nice together, but is the contrast different enough that it is all legible? Well, those questions are exactly what these 12 tools are designed to help you answer, and it certainly may never be a bad idea to run more than one to make sure they are all telling you the same thing.<br />
    <br />
    One caveat to this list, while these tools are helpful and will help you spot some problems, never trust them to be the ultimate authority, but more of a starting point on your road to the smoothest running site you can build.

  • Multiple DropBox Instances on Windows 7 (or Vista) – We recently had a need to run two DropBox instances concurrently on a few of our Windows 7/Vista workstations (if you are running Mac or Linux there are alternate methods to do this documented here. If you are running an older version of Windows, this may work for you. We've not tested either of these alternate methods so can't vouch for them.).
  • ..: ohohlfeld.com : blog » Running WordPress behind Apache mod_proxy – WordPress 2.3 (the blog software I’m using) introduced the concept of canonical URLs, which caused a problem on my host after upgrading. To sum it up, there are many possible ways to access an article or a page in WordPress and the concept of canonical URLs will redirect pages to the permanent link specified in the settings. After upgrading to WordPress >2.3, my blog was no longer reachable, due to an infinite redirection loop:

  • AIGA Standard Form of Agreement for Design Services — AIGA | the professional association for design – This agreement allows you to create customized terms and conditions for different types of design engagements. Updated in May 2007, it is now modular to meet the needs of a growing design community involved in various disciplines.

    It does not take a one-size-fits-all approach, and it is not an extensive pre-printed document where you simply fill in the blanks. Instead, this agreement acknowledges that most design firms develop their own custom proposal document for each project and are looking for an appropriate set of terms and conditions to attach to it. When put together and signed, the custom proposal document and its attached terms and conditions comprise the binding agreement with the client. With this in mind, the new focus of the AIGA Standard Form of Agreement is on those terms and conditions.

  • 24 ways: Contract Killer – If you are writing a contract between you and your customers it doesn’t have to conform to the seemingly standard format of jargon and complicated legalese. You can be creative. A killer contract will clarify what is expected of both sides and it can also help you to communicate your approach to doing business. It will back-up your brand values and help you to build a great relationship between you and your customers. In other words, a creative contract can be a killer contract.
